Addictions
An addiction or dependency is, in the phenomenological sense, a behaviour which rests on an irrepressible effort of the subject to escape from it, despite the motivation.
The subject is devoted to his or her addiction, in spite of being conscious of abusing and losing his or her free will.
The term addiction is also sometimes applied to compulsions that are not substance-related, such as problem gambling and computer addiction.
Addiction can cause physical, psychological, social, family and relationship problems. Progressive and continuous degradation on all these aspects makes it hard to have a normal life.
